Two Special Birthdays

Jack turns two

This time I have TWO special birthdays to report on!

Last weekend we celebrated our grandson Jack's second birthday at Jonathan's apartment in Eau Claire. We brought Grandma Jane along with us so she could be part of the fun, too. She had never seen Jonathan's apartment before, and I knew she'd like it. It's a recently built duplex, and Jonathan has it furnished and decorated very nicely.

Opening presents

Lindsay and her family were there as well. Jack got so many nice presents-- toys and clothes-- from everyone. In the picture at right he's looking at a little Bobcat we got him to remind him of his Grandpa Jon's Bobcat in Colfax :).

The birthday boy did pretty well handling all the attention... there were a lot of us there and of course we kept looking at him and fussing over him.

Look at that sweet smile

We had pizza and birthday cake and watched Jack and Leila play with balloons. It was snowing heavily outside, though, so we kept an eye on the weather and left after a few hours.

Mom and Dad

Meanwhile, at the OTHER end of the age spectrum, we celebrated my dad's birthday a few days early here in Colfax.

Mom and Dad came over, and so did Bill, Scott,  Jonathan and Jack. We had venison roast for lunch followed by a carrot cake with cream cheese frosting.

My new thing: silhouette art

I'll close with a picture taken from Michael's most recent basketball tournament. Jon was impressed with how they had Michael cover this really tall boy. Michael's pretty good at defense... he's persistent and doesn't back down. Thanks to his effort the tall boy only managed to score a couple of points!
