Lisa and Laurie, 2013 |
Was the last blog I wrote really about Christmas-?? Whoops. Guess I have some catching up to do...
In mid-January we went to Rhinelander for an overnight visit with my parents. My sister Laurie was also visiting, so she and I wrestled over who got to have the spare bedroom (just kidding-- Mom and Dad have plenty of spare bedrooms, so not a problem).

Emma and Laurie |
As always, we went for a few walks in the woods while there, but it was pretty cold so we kept the walks short. Besides having Laurie's dogs Mingo and Lily to walk, we walked Mom and Dad's golden retriever, Oscar, and our little Pomeranian, Teddy.

Dogs everywhere! |
This was Teddy's introduction to Mingo and Lily. The size difference between dogs was funny, but in the end they got along. The walks really exhausted Teddy, though... he tried his best to keep up with the big dogs, but wasn't much of a match.

Michael and Emma are in basketball so have tournaments most weekends. Last weekend they each had a tournament in a separate town, so Jon took Michael to Neillsville while I took Emma to Flambeau. The girls have really come together as a team and are on the receiving end of some very good coaching (the middle school principal, whose daughter is on the team, is their coach).

Doesn't seem like Jack is 2 already! In the picture of Emma and her team she looks very tall compared to the rest of the team or is it just the picture? I loved to watch our kids play in those elementary BB tournaments. You can see how much better they get each tournament.
Sally
FABULOUS PHOTOS!! Jane is so talented; that sweater looks adorable! Jackson is 2? Wow. Perhaps Michael is going for that Justin Bieber shag look.
Lulu
Sally, she's one of the tall ones but not the tallest. They have a couple of tiny little girls who are fireballs on the court. And yes, it is really enjoyable to watch the team play now. The games get much more interesting as the kids get older. Everyone has more skills but also they learn to work together.
Laurie,
We are so lucky to have all the fabulous knitted items we have from Grandma Jane. I always get complimented by teachers at school for Leila's different hats and scarves. And yeah, I'll have to tell Michael your Justin Bieber comment. He'll love that...
PS: haircut scheduled for today.
Cute post! John B.
